FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I get started building a music library?

Simply create a playlist (or many playlists) in your iPad's music app as you would normally do. Press Box Pro will automatically include all of your playlists in it's Music Library and you can immediately begin using these.

What is the best way to arrange my playlists?
There is no one best way. It all depends on how you like to keep your song assets organized. One way would be to have a "Pre-game" playlist, an "In-game", and a "Post-game" playlist. I also like to creat a 'Special Songs" playlist where I keep things like the National Anthem, and Take Me Out To The Ballgame, etc.

Can Press Box Pro be used by leagues with multiple teams?
Certainly. In the 'Walk Ups' section, you can create an unlimited number of teams, with an unlimited number of players on each team. So, every player will have his or her own walk up, organized within his or her team.

What other equipment do I need?
Press Box Pro is intended to be a fully self contained broadcasting tool. It even uses the iPad device's microphone to allow recordings and live announcements. All you need to do is plug the input line from your speakers or sound system directly into to iPad's headphone jack.

Can the audio levels be adjusted?
Yes. Press Box Pro has sound level controls at your finger tips for whatever mode you are currently operating in. There is also a dedicated tab that contains all the sound level controls in one place.

Is Press Box Pro difficult to learn?
Press Box Pro was designed with the intent of offering a professional level broadcast tool that even a novice could master within minutes. So, the design and layout is intended to be intuitive. There is no intimidatuion factor .. just familiarity.

Some of my songs are listed as unavailable. Why is that?
Unfortunately, only songs downloaded directly to your device are avaialble to Press Box Pro (same for any iOS app) for on-demand playback. So, songs that are in iCloud or that are licensed through Apple Music are not accessible by Press Box Pro. The good news is that there is an enormous amount of sources for acquiring music content. So, you should easily be able to find altrnate sources to purchase or download any songs that you need - in a format that Press Box Pro is allowed to use.

Can I add my own sounds to the SoundFx Library?
Currently that functionality is not enabled. However, we have a commitment to continually build upon our SoundFx Library through updates. In future releases, we do intend to add the capability to add your own sound effects.

Press Box Pro is awesome. The kids LOVE having their own walk up songs and I love the amazing app you've built. How can I thank you?
Those kind words are thanks enough. We really appreciate it!!

Is there an iPhone version?
There is currently no version available for iPhone. We decided early on to focus on the iPad and to build the best possible app that we could for that device. The limitations of the iPhone, in terms of size, are what made us decide to exclude it.

What about other platforms like Android Tablets?
There is also currently no development effort for any other platforms. For this particular application, we decided that iOS gives us the best in breed platform for our vision of Press Box Pro.

When I test the live microphone feature, it feeds back. How do I prevent this?
The Live mic functionality is intended to be used when the iPad is connected to its external sound source. This provides enough physical distance between the microphone and speaker to prevent feedback. If your desire is simply to test the operation of the live mic, using earbuds or headphones (plugged into the iPad) will do the trick.
